Pringles Pin hole cameras (Camera Obscura's)
How does a hole in the bottom of a Pringles® can make a picture of the world? The hole doesn't make the picture. The image of the world is always there. All the hole does is make it possible for you to see it. Suppose you point your Pringles® Pinhole at a brightly lit bouquet of flowers. Light reflects off the red rose, the blue iris, the white daisy, and the green leaves. If you hold a piece of white paper near the bouquet, some of that reflected light will shine on the paper-but it won't look like anything. That's because light bouncing off the red rose ends up overlapping with light bouncing off the blue iris, the white daisy, and the green leaves. There are many images of the bouquet on the paper-but they overlap with one another, and the colors all blend together, making a jumble of light. The hole isolates a small part of the light, sorting a single image from the jumble. Only a few of the light rays reflecting off each point on the rose are traveling in a direction that will let them pass through the hole. The same is true for light bouncing off all the other flowers in the bouquet. On the other side of the hole, these light rays reveal an image of the bouquet. |

Muybridge motion studies
Eadweared Muybridge studied the gait ( the way something walks) of a horse and used photography to prove that a horse lifts all four feet off the floor during motion.he used a white screen , lined up 24 cameras all with electric shutters and set them off one after another to capture the horse gait.
He called himself the "Picasso of Cinema"

Daguerreotype
Can you find Image evidence of the technique?
This is a Daguerrotype photo
When was it first discovered and by whom?
The Daguerreotype was the first successful photographic process, the discovery being announced on 7 January 1839.
What is special about the technique?
it is a mirror negative that makes one off images and it looks like the person is there.
How does this technique work? Can you find or describe the processes needed to make it work? Maybe illustrate how it is made.
The process consisted of
- exposing copper plates to iodine, the fumes forming light-sensitive silver iodide. The plate would have to be used within an hour.
- exposing to light - between 10 and 20 minutes, depending upon the light available.
- developing the plate over mercury heated to 75 degrees Centigrade. This caused the mercury to amalgamate with the silver.
- fixing the image in a warm solution of common salt (later sodium sulphite was used.)
- rinsing the plate in hot distilled water.
Can you comment how important this technique has been for the history of photography. For example was it popular and is it still used today?
It is still used today because it was a great breakthrough in developing pictures and it is still really good way to make them. but you can only make one picture useing Daguerreotype

2. Does it look how you originally planned? (50 Words Min)
The pictures I took was not my original ideas but i had to change them due to the security and the lack of space to take the pictures. but i thought the pictures came out well and the ones that are on the exhibition they are the best of the pictures and i would i like them to get well known and make living from photography.
3. What do you think about the qualities of your work? In Focus, Good bad light
Most of the pictures were taken in a rush so they are the best quality that they could of been for example they would be good quality that is really good. The light is all natural they photos need to be in more focus.

- The top photo wuth the police chase is a in a really good angle but the golden thurd is slighly out of focus with the criminal. The background was more clear than the main subject of the photo. Lastly you should show more of the key board in the backround as the little corner i see a few cables.
- .
- i like the photo's wear there is a person running from police. The one with the keyboard was okay but could have been more creative, and the last one i don't know

Exhibition
This task is to Print, Frame/mount you pictures in lesson for and exhibition. To plan for this exhibition you will need as a class to think about:
· Where to hold the exhibition- T42 in the tower block.
· How it might look- i would like the exhibition to look very professional on a slide show and posters around the 4th floor.
· Who to invite- tutors and other people from around the college or friends and family.
· Titles for the Photos- i think the photos should be named as you see them.
· Health and Safety- the one thing you need to look at is the mount of people in the room looking at the pictures
During the exhibition you will need to get feedback on your photos. This feedback will help you when writing your evaluation.
